Ingredients
2 large yellow onions, thinly sliced
2 tbsp butter
1 tbsp olive oil
½ tsp salt
½ tsp sugar
1 cup Gruyère cheese, shredded
½ cup cream cheese, softened
½ cup sour cream
¼ cup mayonnaise
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
Fresh thyme or chives for garnish (optional)
Instructions
In a skillet, heat butter and olive oil over medium-low heat. Add onions, salt, and sugar.
Cook for 30–40 minutes, stirring occasionally, until onions are deeply golden and caramelized.
In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, sour cream, mayo, and Worcestershire sauce until smooth.
Fold in caramelized onions and shredded Gruyère.
Transfer to a baking dish and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 15–20 minutes, until hot and bubbly.
