Description

Rich, savory, and luxuriously creamy — this Caramelized Onion and Gruyère Dip is your ultimate flavor-packed crowd-pleaser. The slow-cooked onions melt into the nutty Gruyère for a dip that’s bold, elegant, and addictively spoonable. Whether it’s a holiday party or a quiet night in, this dip brings the comfort with every bite.

Ingredients

Scale

2 large yellow onions, thinly sliced

2 tbsp butter

1 tbsp olive oil

½ tsp salt

½ tsp sugar

1 cup Gruyère cheese, shredded

½ cup cream cheese, softened

½ cup sour cream

¼ cup mayonnaise

1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

Fresh thyme or chives for garnish (optional)

Instructions

In a skillet, heat butter and olive oil over medium-low heat. Add onions, salt, and sugar.

Cook for 30–40 minutes, stirring occasionally, until onions are deeply golden and caramelized.

In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, sour cream, mayo, and Worcestershire sauce until smooth.

Fold in caramelized onions and shredded Gruyère.

Transfer to a baking dish and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 15–20 minutes, until hot and bubbly.

Garnish and serve with crostini, crackers, or fresh veggies.
