Description

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup almond flour (or crushed pork rinds for binding)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 tsp xanthan gum (or cornstarch if not strict keto)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, almond flour, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined and shape into 6 oval patties.
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Melt 1 tbsp butter and cook patties for 4–5 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, melt remaining butter. Add onions and mushrooms; sauté until softened and golden, about 6–8 minutes.
  4. Stir in tomato paste, Dijon mustard, and beef broth. Bring to a simmer.
  5. Sprinkle xanthan gum over the sauce and whisk until slightly thickened.
  6. Return patties to the skillet. Simmer covered for 10–12 minutes until cooked through and flavors meld.
  7. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot, ideally with cauliflower mash or roasted vegetables.

  • Use ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version.
  • If not keto, cornstarch or arrowroot can replace xanthan gum.
  • Add a splash of red wine for a richer gravy flavor.
