Description
These Maple Glazed Brussels Sprouts Skewers are a sweet and savory appetizer or side dish perfect for holidays, parties, or weeknight dinners. Roasted on skewers and brushed with a maple glaze, they’re tender inside, caramelized outside, and irresistibly flavorful.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1½ pounds Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- ¼ cup pure maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
- 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
- Wooden or metal skewers
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) or preheat grill to medium-high heat.
- Toss Brussels sprouts with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Thread onto skewers.
- In a small bowl, whisk maple syrup, Dijon mustard, soy sauce, and apple cider vinegar.
- Arrange skewers on a baking sheet (if roasting) or directly on grill grates. Roast/grill for 18–22 minutes, turning halfway, until sprouts are tender and caramelized.
- Brush skewers with maple glaze during the last 5 minutes of cooking and once more before serving.
Notes
- Add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the glaze for a spicy kick.
- For extra smokiness, sprinkle sprouts with smoked paprika before cooking.
- Pair with bacon crumbles or toasted pecans for more flavor and texture.
- Soak wooden skewers in water for 20 minutes before roasting or grilling to prevent burning.
